Chris
Cheetham is an Oxfordshire based Musical Director and
Multi-Instrumentalist working with amateur dramatic societies and youth
theatre groups in the Oxford and Banbury area.
Chris has
played woodwind and keyboards for a wide range of groups from jazz
orchestras to concert bands plus one or two salad-day pop groups along
the way!
He is a musician for RAF Halton Area Band playing
clarinet and deputising on tenor and alto saxophones. As a soloist on
the band’s 2007 tour of Cyprus, he playing at the British High
Commission and the United Nations Head Quarters. He played with the
Massed Area Bands of the RAF at Birmingham Symphony Hall in 2008, and De
Montfort Hall in 2011.
Chris also plays keys and baritone
saxophone in an Oxfordshire 8-piece function band, piano in a big band
and clarinet in a busy quartet.
As Musical Director, Chris’ shows include Pickwick, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Jekyll & Hyde and around 100 variety show performances, and as co-MD, Footloose - The Musical, Anything Goes and Little Shop of Horrors.
Chris has also played woodwind and keys for many shows including Summer Holiday, The Wiz, Honk!, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Seussical, Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, Hot Mikado and Crazy for You.
